- Bloomberg reports that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, is backing federal government intervention when transmission line projects get “stuck at the state level,” according to a copy of his opening remarks for a hearing being held today. Manchin, in his latest push to pass a broad permitting reform plan, said he would not support a plan that would be used “as just another subsidy for intermittent renewable energy.”
