Mining:
- E&E Greenwire reports an internal EPA memo shows some within the agency doubt whether a proposed veto of the Pebble mine would sufficiently protect Alaska’s famed Bristol Bay.
EPA:
- Washington Post reports refineries, power plants and other polluting facilities would have to cut their soot emissions under a proposed rule the Biden administration announced Friday that aims to reduce the deadly air pollution inhaled by Americans, particularly communities of color.
Energy:
- Washington Examiner reports new National Environmental Policy Act guidelines released by the White House direct agencies to foreground the greenhouse gas emissions associated with reviews of energy and other infrastructure projects. But the guidelines also specifically dispense reviews of renewable energy projects from having to include comprehensive analysis of their emissions impacts.
