- Mining.com reports U.S. regulators are warming to approving new domestic sources of electric vehicle battery metals, as Washington bids to avoid a reliance on strategic minerals imports similar to that on crude oil.
- Bloomberg reports U.S. Senators sent a bipartisan letter to the Biden administration Friday afternoon asking the president to invoke the Defense Production Act to accelerate production of battery materials that are needed to power electric vehicles.
Energy:
- Politico Pro reports EPA on Friday proposed a federal plan to further reduce interstate ozone-forming pollution emitted by power plants, and will eventually expand to cover pipelines, cement kilns, iron and steel mills, and other industrial sources.
